Walk For Lobular Research
WALKS FOR LOBULAR ON 27 SEPTEMBER 2026
Join us for a sponsored walk from Horsham to the coast on the 27th September 2026 to raise funds for lobular research.
The following sponsored 22km (13.67 miles) walk has been organised for those who would like to carry out a sponsored walk and raise money for research into lobular breast cancer at our primary research partner, the Manchester Breast Centre. The 22km number is to represent the 22 people a day diagnosed with lobular breast cancer in the UK.

27th September 2026 - 10:00 start - Southwater, West Sussex.
22Km undulating walk through some of the most beautiful Sussex countryside.
The walk starts in the Horsham Golf Club Car Park. There is also a Park and Ride car park in Southwater on Worthing Road (RH13 0AR). The walk Begins at 10:00 sharp. Registration from 09:30. The what 3 words location is TBC.
95% of our undulating journey is on public footpaths and bridleways. We will pass through beautiful Sussex countryside, ancient bluebell woodland and magical forests.
Our journey will explore the area east of Southwater around Copsale, Maplehurst and Nuthurst.
Walking shoes recommended.
Total ascent 946 feet. Total descent 946 feet.
Please remember to bring: sun screen, water, and plenty of snacks; and of course, be prepared for the British weather, sunshine or rain!
PARKING: We encourage Horsham / Southwater and local walkers to be dropped off or come by foot due to limited parking facilities. For those living further away, Horsham District Council have kindly allocated us 30 free car parking passes which must be displayed in your car window and will be provided on a first come first served basis to walkers who have registered with us in advance.

The Lobular Moon Shot Project is run a group of volunteers and is not a charity. This JustGiving page exists to enable people wishing to donate to lobular breast cancer research at the Manchester Breast Centre - part of the University of Manchester. Our partner research organisation.
The Manchester Breast Centre, established in 2005, aims to promote collaborative working among breast cancer specialists in Manchester, underpinning research and allowing access to a wide range of state of the art facilities. Across the centre, world-class scientists and clinicians are working together to ensure their research makes as big an impact as possible, as fast as possible.
The Manchester Breast Centre is working closely with the Lobular Moon Shot Project to establish a programme of research focused on Lobular Breast Cancer to find specific and effective treatments that will benefit patients with this form of breast cancer.
